Ear Stretching Crescents are used to stretch piercings such as the earlobe and Septum, this increases the gauge (size) of the piercing. A Crescent is a specific type of stretcher, it is called a crescent due to it's shape which is like a crescent moon and is wider in the centre and tapers down at either end. A narrow end is inserted into the piercing and then slowly over a period of time the crescent is slid further into the piercing, widening it. Crescents are available in PMMA acrylic, 316L Surgical Steel and Organics such as horn and wood. They usually come in gauges from 3mm to 14mm gauge (US 12g to 9/16"). For help with sizing please read our Sizing Guide. Please read our Body Jewellery Guide if you need more information about Septum and Ear stretching.
